Answer:

x2−1−2a−a2

⇒  x2−(1+2a+a2)

⇒  x2−[(1)2+2×1×a+(a)2]

⇒  x2−(1+a)2          [ Since, a2+2ab+b2=(a+b)2 ]

We know, a2−b2=(a+b)(a−b)

⇒  (x+1+a)(x−1−a)

∴  x2−1−2a−a2 =(x+1+a)(x−1−a)

Step-by-step explanation:

x

2

−1−2a−a

2

⇒ x

2

−(1+2a+a

2

)

⇒ x

2

−[(1)

2

+2×1×a+(a)

2

]

⇒ x

2

−(1+a)

2

[ Since, a

2

+2ab+b

2

=(a+b)

2

]

We know, a

2

−b

2

=(a+b)(a−b)

⇒ (x+1+a)(x−1−a)

∴ x

2

−1−2a−a

2

=(x+1+a)(x−1−a)
