They may decimal but as long as they can be written in fraction form where a denominator cannot be equal to zero.

They may include other set of numbers: natural, whole numbers and integers.

so you just write  a fraction that will give a decimal between 1 and 2

e.g. 0.5= 1/2

2/3=0.67

3/2=1.5

4/3=1.33

5/3=1.67

Note that 5/2=2.5 yet is a rational number but its does fit or lie within a given range [between 1 and 2]
