Find the focus of the parabola y^2= -2x

we know that this is right handed parabola y^2=4ax-------------------------(1)

given y^2=-2x-----------------(2)

on comparing eq(1)and eq (2)

4ax= -2x

a=-2x/4x= -1/2

the focus of parabola is f (a,0)=(-1/2,0)
