find the force of buoyancy on a body of volume 200 centimetre cube when it is dipped in water with :-
1)half the volume in water
2)completely submerged in water

Force of buoyancy = gravitational force x mass = density x gravitational force x volume
1) Half the volume = 200/2 = 100 cm^3 = 0.001 m^3
Desity of water = 1000kg/m^2
Therefore force of buoyancy = 0.001 m^3 x 1000 kg/m^2 x 9.8 m/s^2 = 9.8 N
2) Because it is fully submerged in water so its volume is 200 cm^3 = 0.002 m^3
So the force of buoyancy = 0.002 m^3 x 1000 kg/m^2 x 9.8m/s^2 = 19.6 N
1) Half the volume = 200/2 = 100 cm^3 = 0.001 m^3
Desity of water = 1000kg/m^2
Therefore force of buoyancy = 0.001 m^3 x 1000 kg/m^2 x 9.8 m/s^2 = 9.8 N
