Solution :

  • First Proportion = 5
  • Second Proportion = 15
  • Third Proportion = 8
  • Fourth Proportion = ?

Let :

  • The Fourth Proportion be x .

Now :

5 : 15 : 8 : x

Product of Extremes = Product of Means

Product of Extremes = 5 × x

Product of Means = 15 × 8

\sf{5\times{x}=15\times{8}}

15 × 8/5

3 × 8

24

Therefore , The Fourth Proportion is 24 .
