Hi ,

Given A.P is -11 , -8 , -5 ,... 49

common difference = d = a2 - A1

d = -8 - ( - 11 )

d = -8 + 11

d = 3

Therefore,

Rearrange the A.P in reverse order,

49 , 46 , ..., -5 , - 8 , - 11

first term = a = 49

d = - 3

n = 4

fourth term = a4

a4 = a + 3d

= 49 + 3 × ( - 3 )

= 49 - 9

= 40

Required fourth term from the end = 40

I hope this helps you.
