Find the greatest length of the rod which can measure exactly 42m,49m and 84m. Find also the number of times the rod is contained in each length.

49 = 7×7
84 = 2×2×3×7

HCF of 42, 49 and 84 is 7

the greatest length of the rod which can measure exactly 42m,49m and 84m is 7 m

the number of times the rod of 7m is contained in 42m = 6 times

the number of times the rod of 7m is contained in 49m = 7 times

the number of times the rod of 7m is contained in 84m = 12 times
