HCF

To find:

HCF of 45, 405, 28835

Step-by-step explanation:

  1. Find the prime factorization of each of the numbers.
  2. Prime factorization:- This is a method in which we find the prime factors(multiplication of prime no. gives original number) of a number, we can find it with tree method also.
  3. The product of all common prime factors will be the HCF (Highest Common Factor) of given numbers.

Calculation:

Prime factors of 45 = 3×3×5 = 3^{2} × 5

Prime factors of 405= 3×3×3×3×5 = 3^{4} × 5

Prime factors of 28835= 5×73×79

So, the common factors among all 3 numbers is only 5.

So, the HCF  or GCF of all these numbers will be 5.

Note: I didn't mentioned 1 in prime factors because 1 is neither prime nor composite, if we would have taken simply factors in place of prime factors then 1 would have been considered.
