Heya..

HCF of 31 42

31 = 1 * 31
42 = 2*21 = 2*3*7*1

Only Common Factor Is 1...HCF = 1

HCF of 45 125

45 = 5*3*3*1
125=5*5*5*1

HII
BRAINYY HERE TO HELP YOU. ^_^

=================================

HCF ( Highest Common Factor )

(a) HCF of 31 & 42

Prime factorisation of 31
31 = 1 × 31

Prime factorisation of 42
42 = 1 × 2 × 3 × 7

SO, THE ONLY COMMON FACTOR BETWEEN 31 & 42 IS 1

THEREFORE, HCF OF 31 & 42 = 1

=================================

(b) 45 & 125

Prime factorisation of 45
45 = 5 × 3 × 3

Prime Factorisation of 125
125 = 5 × 5 × 5

SO, THE ONLY COMMON FACTOR OF 125 & 45 IS 5.

THEREFORE, HCF OF 45 & 125 = 5
