 \large \tt AHOY!! \:

given :-

slant height of the cone = 34cm

diameter of the cone = 32cm

therefore it's radius = 32/2 = 16cm

let the slant height be the hypotenuse, radius be the base and height be the perpendicular.

by Pythagoras theorem we get,

=> l² (slant height) = r² (radius) + h² (height)

=> 34² = 16² + h²

=> 1156 = 256 + h²

=> 1156 - 256 = h²

=> 900 = h²

=> h = √900

=> h = √(30 × 30)

=> h = 30cm

hence, the height of the cone is 30cm.
