Step-by-step explanation:

total surface area=968cm²

radius=7cm

height=h

t.s.a=2πr(h+r)=968

=2×22/7×7(h+7)=968

=44(h+7)=968

or,h+7=968/44

or,height=22-7

height=15cm

Given :

  • Total Surface Area of cylinder = 968 cm²
  • Radius of a cylinder = 7 cm

To Find :

  • Height of a cylinder = ?

Solution :

Finding the height of the cylinder :

→ TSA of cylinder = 2πr(r + h)

[ where, r is the radius of cylinder and h is the height of cylinder ]

→ 968 = 2 × 22/7 × 7 (7 + h)

→ 968 = 2 × 22 (7 + h)

→ 968 = 44 (7 + h)

→ 968 ÷ 44 = 7 + h

→ 22 = 7 + h

→ 22 - 7 = h

→ h = 22 - 7

h = 15 cm

  • Hence,the height of the cylinder is 15 cm.

Formulas related to cylinder and cone :-

  • Volume of cylinder = πr²h
  • T.S.A of cylinder = 2πrh + 2πr²
  • Volume of cone = ⅓ πr²h
  • C.S.A of cone = πrl
  • T.S.A of cone = πrl + πr²
