in ∆ ADC , we can see that

AD = 24cm

AC = 12cm

=> DC = ?

using Pythagoras theorem

AC² + DC² = AD²

=> 12² + DC² = 24²

=> DC² =3× 12²

=> DC = 12√3 cm
