Inverse Ratio : Means, Ratio of reciprocals,

Reciprocal of 2,3,4 are : 1/2,1/3,1/4 respectively

Now, For Same Denominator, We have to take out LCM,

2,3,4 LCM is 12

1*6/2*6, 1*4/3*4, 1*3/4*3

6/12, 4/12, 3/12

Hence, The denominator gets Cancelled and,

6:4:3

Is The Final Inverse Ratio

Given:

The ratio 2:3:4.

To find:

The inverse ratio of 2:3:4.

Solution:

To answer this question, first of all, we should know that the inverse of a number x is equal to

 \frac{1}{x}

Now,

as given, we have,

2:3:4

The inverse of 2 is

 \frac{1}{2}

Similarly, the inverse of 3 is

 \frac{1}{3}

Again, the inverse of 4 is

 \frac{1}{4}

So,

the inverse ratio of 2:3:4 is

 \frac{1}{2} : \frac{1}{3}:  \frac{1}{4}

Now, we will take the LCM of 2, 3 and 4.

The LCM of 2, 3 and 4 is 12.

So,

we have,

 \frac{6}{12} : \frac{4}{12} : \frac{3}{12}

After multiplying each fraction by 12, we get.

6:4:3

Hence, the inverse ratio of 2:3:4 is 6:4:3.
