Answer :

  • Lateral surface area of cuboid is 1200cm²
  • Total surface area of cuboid is 1992 cm²

Given :

  • Length = 22cm
  • Breadth = 18cm
  • Height = 15cm

To find :

  • Lateral surface area of cuboid
  • Total surface area of cuboid

Solution :

(1) Lateral surface area of cuboid :

As we know that,

  • Lateral surface area of cuboid = 2h(l + b)

where , l is length (22cm) , b is breadth (18cm) and h is height (15cm)

⇢ 2h(l + b)

⇢ 2 × 15(22 + 18)

⇢ 30(40)

⇢ 1200 cm²

Hence , Lateral surface area of cuboid is 1200cm²

(2) Total surface area of cuboid:

As we know that,

  • Total surface area of cuboid = 2(lb + bh + lh)

where , l is length (22cm) , b is breadth (18cm) and h is height (15cm)

⇢ 2(lb + bh + lh)

⇢ 2((22)(18) + (18)(15) + (22)(15)

⇢2(396 + 270 + 330)

⇢ 2(996)

⇢ 1992 cm²

Hence Total surface area of cuboid is 1992 cm²

  • Lateral surface area of cuboid is 1200cm²
  • Total surface area of cuboid is 1992 cm²

Total surface area = 2( lh + hb + lb )

= 2(15×22+18×15+22×18)

= 2 × 369 + 270 + 330

= 2 × 969

= 1938 cm².

Lateral surface area = 1938 - ( 2 × l × b )

= 1938 - 660

= 1278 cm².
