See
140=2×2×5×7

168=2×2×2×3×7

Common FACTORS=2×2×7

UNCOMMON FACTORS=3×2×5

LCM=CF×UF=2×2×7×3×2×5=840

So LCM is 840

HCF×LCM=Product of given numbers

HCF=140×168/840=28

So the HCF is 28

LCM = 840 and HCF = 28

Step-by-step explanation:

We have,

140 and 168

To find, the LCM of 140 and 168 = ? and

the LCM of 140 and 168 = ?

140 and 168

140 = 2 × 2 × 5 × 7  and

168 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 7

The LCM of 140 and 168 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 5 × 7

= 24  × 35 = 840

We know that,

LCM × HCF = Pdoduct of two numbers

⇒ 840 × HCF = 140 × 168

HCF=\dfrac{140\times 168}{840}

HCF=\dfrac{168}{6}

⇒ HCF = 28

∴ LCM = 840 and HCF = 28
