As the rule of Pythagoras theorem we can see that BAD is a right angle triangle.

So,AD²+AB²=BD²

BD=4²+8²

=100

=10cm

Then,We know that DE=BE[The two ears of a rectangle bisect each other]

Hence,DE=BE=10/2=5cm
