Given :-

Mean of 10 observation = 15

Each observation increased by 2

To Find :-

New mean

Solution :-

For the old mean

\sf Sum \; of \; 10 \; observation = 15 \times 10

\sf Sum \; of \; 10 \; observation  = 150

When each observation increased by 2

\sf (2 \times 10) + 150

\sf 20 + 150

\sf 170

For new mean

\sf New \; mean = \dfrac{170}{10}

\sf New \; mean = 17

GIVEN :-

  • Mean of 10 observation = 15.
  • Each term is increased by 2.

TO FIND :-

  • New mean.

SOLUTION :-

Sum of 10 observations = 15 × 10 = 150.

Now According to question it is give that each term is increased by 2 so,

Therefore New observations are , 2 × 10 = 20.

Now we have to find the New mean so,

 \implies \sf \: new \: mean =  \dfrac{20 + 150}{10}  \\

\implies \sf \: new \: mean =  \dfrac{170}{10}  \\

\implies \underline{ \boxed{ \sf \: new \: mean =  17}}
