Each observation increased by 2

To Find :-

New mean

Solution :-

For the old mean

$\sf Sum \; of \; 10 \; observation = 15 \times 10$

$\sf Sum \; of \; 10 \; observation = 150$

When each observation increased by 2

$\sf (2 \times 10) + 150$

$\sf 20 + 150$

$\sf 170$

For new mean

$\sf New \; mean = \dfrac{170}{10}$

$\sf New \; mean = 17$

• New mean.

SOLUTION :-

Sum of 10 observations = 15 × 10 = 150.

Now According to question it is give that each term is increased by 2 so,

Therefore New observations are , 2 × 10 = 20.

Now we have to find the New mean so,

$\implies \sf \: new \: mean = \dfrac{20 + 150}{10}$

$\implies \sf \: new \: mean = \dfrac{170}{10}$
