Let the length =x

Breadth=18cm

Perimeter=86cm

Perimeter = 2(l+b)

86=2(x+18)

86=2x+36

2x=86-36

2x=50

X=50/2

X=25cm

Length = 25cm

Solution -

Given Data -

Perimeter = 86 cm

Width = 18 cm

∵ Here, we need to find the length of a rectangle when the perimeter and width is given

∵ Perimeter of rectangle

= 2(length + breadth)

Let's assume the length as x cm

According to Question,

Perimeter of rectangle = 86 cm

2(x + 18) = 86

⇒ x + 18 = 86/2 = 43

⇒ x = 43 - 18

⇒ x = 25

Measurements -

Length = x cm = 25 cm

∴ Length of the given rectangle is 25 cm
