Find the length of a cord which is 3 cm distance from the centre of the circle with radius 5 cm

It is the diagram.


Tr. AXO=~Tr. BXO by
RHS congruence condition as
OA=OB
OX perpendicular toAB
(line between centre and chord is perpendicular to the chord)

By CPCT,
AX=AB
=>2AX=AB

AX=Square root of (5sq.+3sq.)
[By pythagoras theorm]

=>AX=4cm
=>ChordAB = 8cm.
