Given:-

AC=17m

CD=15m

AB=10m

From the figure we understand:-

AD needs to be find before finding BD

Formula used:-

Pythagoras theoram:-

H^2=P^2+B^2

Solution:-

In the given figure,

AD^2+CD^2=AC^2(Pythagoras \:  \:  \:  theoram)

AD^2+15^2=17^2

AD^2+225=289

AD^2=289-225

AD^2=64

AD= \sqrt{64}

AD=8m

Now,

AD=8m

BD=?

AB=10m

By Pythagoras theorem:-

AD^2+BD^2=AB^2

8^2+BD^2=10^2

64+BD^2=100

BD^2=100-64

BD^2=36

BD= \sqrt{36}

BD=6m

Hence,

BD=6m
