Diagonal of rectangle = sqrt ( Length^2 + Width^2)
= sqrt ( 12^2 + 5^2)
= sqrt ( 144 + 25)
= sqrt ( 169)
= 13 m
Diagonal = 13 m

Solution:
All the angles of rectangle are 90°
Hence two adjacent sides and Diagonal form a right angle triangle
Using Pythagorean Theorem
Diagonal² = 12² + 5²
=> Diagonal² = 144 + 25
=> Diagonal² = 169
=> Diagonal = ± 13
As Length can not be negative
Hence Diagonal length = 13 m
length of diagonal of the rectangle is 13 m
