find the length of the hypotenuse of a square whose side is 16 cm.

as it is a square all sides are equal so if we draw a diagonal to the square the it seems to be as right angled triangle.
so hyp=(16×16)^1/2 [as square root can be written as whole power 1/2]
=16

16²+16²=hypotenuse
hypotenuse=√512
