diagnol of rectangle =√l^2+b^2

l= 16

b=12

diagnol =√16^2+12^2

=√256+144=√400=20

thus diagnol = 20 cm

hope this helps

By Pythagoras Theorem

H² = B² + P²

H² = 16² + 12²

H² = 256 + 144

H² = 400

H = 20

Hence , length of the diagonal is 20 meter
