first you know limit defineat any point a
when
lim g (a-)=lim g (a+)=g (a)
but your question
g (x)= { x-1 x not equal to 4
it means
g (x)={x-1 x> 4
{ x-1 x<4
here we look
lim g (4+)=lim g (4-) =3 but g (4)=5
so , limit will not exist or defined

for any no less then 4 .ie. 3.99 etc limit is x-1=(4-)-1=5
for any no greater then four ie. 4.01 etc limit is
x-1=(4+)-1=3
and for4 it it is 5
so limit exists for no less than or equal to 4
for any no greater then four ie. 4.01 etc limit is
x-1=(4+)-1=3
and for4 it it is 5
so limit exists for no less than or equal to 4
