Number of moles in 1kg (1000 grams) of NH4NO3 = given mass/molar mass

= 1000/80

= 12.5 moles

Mass of Nitrogen present in 1mole of NH4NO3 = 28 grams

So,

Mass of Nitrogen present in 12.5 moles of NH4NO3 = 12.5 x 28

= 350 grams

Therefore, the mass of nitrogen in 1kg of NH4NO3 is 350 grams
