Molar Mass of the KNO₃ = 100 g/mol.

Mass of the nitrogen present in 1 mol. of KNO3 = 14 g.

Mass of the KNO3 = 1 kg.

= 1000 g.

 

Now,

∵ 100 g of the KNO3 contains 14 g of the N.

∴ 1 g of the KNO3 contains 14/100 g of the N.

∴ 1000 g of the KNO3 contains 140 g of the N. 

Hence, the Mass of the N is 140 g.
