Solution :-

1. 5, 7, 13, 18, 25, 18.

Sum of all observations

= 5 + 7 + 13 + 18 + 25 + 18 = 86

Total number of observations = 6

Mean = \frac{Sum\:\:of\:\:all\:\:observations}{Total\:\:number\:\:of\:\:observations}=\frac{86}{6} = 14.3

2. ₹50, ₹42.80, ₹12, ₹16

Sum of all observations

= ₹(50 + 42.80 + 12 + 16) = ₹120.8

Total number of observations = 4

Mean = \frac{Sum\:\:of\:\:all\:\:observations}{Total\:\:number\:\:of\:\:observations}=\frac{Rs.\:120.8}{4} = Rs.\:30.2

Answer :-

Mean of 5, 7, 13, 18, 25, 18 = 14.3

Mean of ₹50, ₹42.80, ₹12, ₹16 = Rs. 30.2

More Information :-

\star Mean is the average of numbers or we can say that it is the ratio of Sum of all observations to the Total number of observations.

\star Median is the middle number of the sorted numbers in ascending or descending order.

Median Formula = (), where n is number of terms.

\star Mode is the number that appears the most in a set or group of numbers.

Solution :-

1. 5, 7, 13, 18, 25, 18.

Sum of all observations

= 5 + 7 + 13 + 18 + 25 + 18 = 86

Total number of observations = 6

Mean = \frac{Sum\:\:of\:\:all\:\:observations}{Total\:\:number\:\:of\:\:observations}=\frac{86}{6} = 14.3

2. ₹50, ₹42.80, ₹12, ₹16

Sum of all observations

= ₹(50 + 42.80 + 12 + 16) = ₹120.8

Total number of observations = 4

Mean = \frac{Sum\:\:of\:\:all\:\:observations}{Total\:\:number\:\:of\:\:observations}=\frac{Rs.\:120.8}{4} = Rs.\:30.2

Hence;

  • Mean of 5, 7, 13, 18, 25, 18 = 14.3
  • Mean of ₹50, ₹42.80, ₹12, ₹16 = Rs. 30.2
