(25+9)/2
=34/2
=17

therefore mean proportion between 9 and 25 is 17

let the mean proportional be b between the terms a=9 and c=25

so,

b² = ac

b² = 9 * 25

b² = 225

b. = 15

Hence,

The mean proportional between 9 and 25 is 15
