Answer:

Values:- 4.31, 4.30, 4.29 and 4.35.

Here,

  • a1 = 4.31
  • a2 = 4.30
  • a3 = 4.29
  • a4 = 4.35

Now, Finding mean value = (a1 + a2 + a3 + a4)/4

a_mean = (4.31 + 4.30 + 4.29 + 4.35)/4

a_mean = 17.25 ÷ 4

a_mean = 4.31

Now, Finding the errors :- an - a_mean = ∆a

  • 4.31 - 4.31 = 0
  • 4.30 - 4.31 = |-0.01| = 0.01
  • 4.29 - 4.31 = |-0.02| = 0.02
  • 4.35 - 4.31 = 0.04

Now, Finding the ∆a_mean :-

∆a_mean = (0 + 0.01 + 0.02 + 0.04)/4

∆a_mean = 0.07 ÷ 4

∆a_mean = 7 ÷ 400

∆a_mean = 0.0175 i.e. 0.017

Relative error :-

∆a_mean/a_mean

= 0.017/4.31

= 0.0039

Percentage error :-

= 0.0039 * 100%

= 0.39%
