find the measure of an angle which is 1) equal to its complement. 2) equal to its supplement.

Complementary angles are those angles whose sum is equal to 90°.

Supplementary angles are those angles whose sum is equal to 180°

Now the question(first part) is saying that the angle is its complement .

Then if the angle is x then

x+x = 90°

2x = 90°

x = 45°

In the second part the angle is its supplement .

If angle is x then

x + x = 180°

2x = 180°

x = 90°
