first write it in ascending order

ie. 11,25,37,39,42,43,43,45,46,

median =( n+1)/2
I.e (9+1)/2
= 5

therefore 42 is the median....

hope it helps.....

Answer:

Median means the middle one.

Explanation:

First, write the number in ascending order and then choose the middle one.

After writing the numbers in ascending order, we find 42 as median for this question.

For even no. of observation, there is a little different process.

If the no. of observation is even, we find two middle most observations and to find median, we have to add the two middle most observations and divide the sum by 2.

Lets take an example,

The data is,

3,2,1,6,5,4

TO FIND ANSWER,

We have to first arrange the data in ascending order, like this,

1,2,3,4,5,6

Now, we have to find the two middle most observation.

Here, two middle most observation is 3 and 4.

To find median, 3 is added to 4 and the sum is divided by 2 , like this,

(3+4)/2

= 8/2

= 4

So, the median in this example is 4.
