Given:-

An AP series - 6, - 2, 2 ,........., 68

To Find :-

Middle term of an AP.

Formula and concept used :-

♤Middle term depend upon number of terms. Two cases arises :-

● Case 1 :- If number of terms are odd, there is only one Middle term i.e. (n + 1)/2 th term

● Case 2 :- If number of terms are even, there are two Middle term i.e. n/2 th term and (n + 2)/2 th term

● nth term of an AP series is

a_n \:  = a \:  + (n - 1) \times d

♡ where a is first term

♡ d is common difference

♡ n is number of terms

Solution:-

Here, First term, a = - 6

Common Difference, d = - 2 - (-6) = 4

nth term, = 68

a + (n - 1) × d = 68

- 6 + (n - 1) × 4 = 68

4n - 4 = 74

4n = 78

n = 78/4 = 39/2

=> n is not a natural number.

Therefore, not possible to find the middle term.
