find the minimum length in cm and correct to nearest whole number of the thin metal sheet required to make a hollow and closed cylinderical box of diameter 20cm and height 35cm.given that the width of the metal sheet is 1 m.also find the cost of the sheet at the rate of ruppees 56 per meter

For us to get get the minimum length we must put into consideration that the cylindrical box is closed.

When we talk about length, we are talking about Perimeter.

Therefore we need to get the total perimeter of the cylinder.

The length required is the length of the curved surface plus the length of twice the diameter because of the two circular shapes to be cut.

Curved surface length =3.142 × 20=62.84cm

Twice diameter=40cm

40+62.84=102.84cm

Convert this to meters.

102.84/100=1.024m

56 × 1.024=57.5904

Rupees 57.5904
