To Find: Mode

Solution:

Class interval   Frequency

10-14                          8

14-18                         6

18-22                        11

22-26                       20

26-30                      25

30-34                       22

34-38                       19

38-42                       4

Max frequency 25  against 26 - 30

Modal class = 26-30

Mode = 26   + 4 *  (25 - 20)/ (25 - 20 + 25 - 22)

= 26 + 4 * 5 / 8

= 26 + 2.5

= 28.5

mode of the given  frequency distribution = 28.5
