Answer :

Given ,

  • Volume of CH4 = 11.2L

We need to find

  • No. of moles of CH4 at STP

____________________________

We know that

Every gas occupies a volume of 22.4L at STP(Standard temperature & pressure)

Now ,

Given volume of CH4 = 11.2L

Volume of CH4 at STP = 22.4 L

That means 1 mole of CH4 = 22.4L

In other form :

For 22.4L of CH4 = 1 mole

We need to find

For 11.2 L of CH4 = ? moles

By Cross-multiplyng

→ No. of moles × 22.4 = 1 × 11.2

→ No. of moles = 11.2/22.4

→ No. of moles = 1/2

No. of moles of 11.2L of CH4 = 0.5 moles
