ǫᴜᴇsᴛɪᴏɴ :

Find the nth term equation for the sequence: 15, 11, 7, 3...

sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :

Given that,

  • AP Series : 15,11,7,3...

To find,

  • nth term of the AP series.

Let,

  • a1 = 11
  • a2 = 7

➡ Common difference (d) = a2 - a1 = 7 - 11 = - 4

Now,

We have the required terms to find the nth term of AP series.

  • a = 11
  • d = - 4
  • n = n

Formula :- an = a + (n - 1)d

  • Substitute the values.

➠ an = 11 + (n - 1)(-4)

➠ an = 11 - 4n + 4

➠ an = 7 - 4n

∴ Hence, the nth term of AP series = 7 - 4n

More Information,

AP FORMULAE

◼ an = a + (n - 1)d

◼ Sn = n/2 [ 2a + (n - 1)d ]
