Given sequence 5 , 11 , 17 , 23 ,..

a = 5 ,

a2 - a1 = 11 - 5 = 6 ,

a3 - a2 = 17 - 11 = 6 ,

a2 - a1 = a3 - a2 = 6 = d

Therefore ,

Given sequence is Arithmetic Progression.

first term = a = 5 ,

common difference= d = 6 ,

nth term = an

=> an = a + ( n - 1 )d

= 5 + ( n - 1 )6

= 5 + 6n - 6

= 6n - 1

Therefore ,

an = 6n - 1

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

THE GIVEN AP IS 5,11,17,23

FIRST TERM or a= 5

COMMOM DIFFERENCE or d= 11-5=6

The nth term of the Ap is given by

Tn=a+(n-1)d

=5+(n-1) 6

=5+6n-6

=6n-1
