The number of components present in KCl solution in water is 4.

  • KCl is a neutral salt formed by the reaction of strong acid HCl and strong base KOH.
  • When the solution of KCl is made, it ionizes into K⁺ and Cl⁻ ions.
  • Water (H₂O) is also ionized into its components, i.e., H⁺ or, H₃O⁺ and OH⁻ ions.

 KCl ⇄ K⁺ + Cl⁻

H₂O  ⇄  H⁺ / H₃O⁺ + OH⁻

So, the number of components present in KCl solution in water is 4 and they are : K⁺, Cl⁻, H⁺ or, H₃O⁺ ,OH⁻
