H2O≡2⋅H+1⋅O . From this equation we can tell that MH2O=2⋅1gmol+1⋅16gmol. That equals to MH2O=18gmol, so 1 mole of H2O is 18g. Now we can make a proportion: 118=x9. The answer is 0.5 moles!

no of mole = given mass / molar mass
= 9/18
=1/2 or 0.5 mole
