2x+3y+17=0
2x+3y= -17 ................(1)
4y+6x+15=0
6x+4y= -15 ..............(2)

equation (1) is multiplied by 6 ans equation (2) is multiplied by 2
12x+18y= -102 ................(3)
12x+8y= -30.................(4)

equations (3) & (4) are subtracted......
12x+18y= -102
12x+8y= -30
-. -. +
_____________
0 + 10y = -72
y= -72/10
y = -7.2

The value of y is kept in equation (1)
2x+3y= -17
2x+3(-7.2) = -17
2x- 21.6= -17
2x= -17+21.6
2x=4.6
x=4.6/2
x= 2.3

Answer:

Please refer to to the following explanation.

Step-by-step explanation:

2x+3y+17=0

2x+3y= -17 ….(1)

4y+6x+15=0

6x+4y= -15 …..(2)

equation (1) is multiplied by 6 and equation (2) is multiplied by 2

12x+18y= -102 ….(3)

12x+8y= -30...…..(4)

equations (3) & (4) are subtracted...

12x+18y= -102

12x+8y= -30

-. -. +

_____________

0 + 10y = -72

y= -72/10

y = -7.2

The value of y is kept in equation (1)

2x+3y= -17

2x+3(-7.2) = -17

2x- 21.6= -17

2x= -17+21.6

2x=4.6

x=4.6/2

x= 2.3
