Question;

Find the number revolutions

taken by

the wheel of a truck to

cover a distance

of

78.5 km if the diameter of the wheel

is lm (use =3.14)

To Find;

The number of rotations.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Given;

distance = 78.5km

diameter = 1m

so radius = diameter/2

= 1/2 = 0.5m

we know,

circumference \:  = 2\pi  r</h3><h3> = 2 \times 3.14 \times 0.5</h3><h3>= 3.14m</h3><h3></h3><h3>

  • as the circumference is expressed here in metre we have to convert the distance covered also to metre

  • 1km = 1000m

so 78.5km = 78.5 × 1000m

= 7850m

To find the numbers of rotations,

  • divide the distance covered by the circumference

so here it becomes,

rotations =  \frac{7850}{3.14 }  \\  = 2500

so the number of rotations completed is 2500.
