The Number Is 200

Let us assume the number to be 'a'.

To Find:

The Value Of 'a'.

Solving:

Framing a Linear Equation According To The Question:

a/5 + 5 = a/4 – 5

Taking x/4 to the other side of the equation we get:

a/5 - a/4 = - 10 ------------------Equation(1)

Solving Equation (1),

Taking LCM of 5 and 4(It is 20):

4a - 5a/20 = -10

- 1a/20 = - 10

-1a = - 10 x 20

-1a = - 200

Taking - 1 to the other side ot equation we get:

a = - 200 / - 1

a = 200

(When we divide a negative number by a negative number the answer we get will be positive)

Therefore, the number is 200 as we assumed the number to be 'a' in the starting.
