To find :  p/q form of 5.6 (bar​ on 6)​

Solution:

5.6 (bar​ on 6) = 5.6666…..

Let x = 5.6666…….  -------- (1)

Here only one digit is repeating so multiply by 10 on both sides

10 × x = 10 × 5.6666….

10x = 56.666…. ---------(2)

On subtracting equation 1 from equation 2

10x - x = 56.666…. - 5.666….

9x = 51

x = 51/9  

x = 17/3

Hence , 5.6 (bar​ on 6) = 17/3
