we will get the diagonal of square
diagonal of square = √2 × side
√2 × side = 16cm
side = 16/ √2
16 × √2 / √2 × √2
= 16√2/ 2 = 8√2
side of square = 8√2cm
perimeter of square
= 4 × side = 4 × 8√2
= 32√2cm
