If you plot it, it will be like a right angled triangle with A- (0,4), B-(0,0), C-(3,0). Suppose A- (0,4) is 4 units on y axis(perpendicular) and C- (3,0) is 3 units on X axis. So we can find AC to be 5 units by Pythagoreas theorem. Add 4+3+5 = 12
