In triangle ADC, Angle D = 90 degree

Therefore, by Pythagoras theorem

AC² = AD² + DC²

13² = AD² + 12²

AD² = 169-144

AD = 5 units

Thus, Length of rectangle = 12 units

         Breadth of rectangle = 5 units

Perimeter of rectagle = 2(l+b)

                                    = 2(12+5)

                                    = 2(17)

Perimeter of rectagle = 34 square units

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Breadth of rectangle = 12cm

Here, <ADC = 90°

∴ According to pythagoras theorem,

(AC)² = (AD)² + (DC)²

(13)² = (AD)² + (12)²

(AD)² = 169 - 144 = 25

AD = √25 = 5cm

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

                                      =  2(5+12)

                                      = 2(17) = 34cm
