First calculate the area of the rectangle by 6*4 = 24 cm square. Now calculate the area of the semi-circle inscribed in the rectangle. the are of the semi circle will be (π*r*r)/2. our radius is 2 cm here form the diagram. hence the area of the semi-circle will be approx 6.28 cm square.

subtract the area of the semi circle from the area of the rectangle.

24 - 6.28 = 17.72 cm square.
