perpendicular distance from x axis = y coordinate = 3
perpendicular distance from y axis = x coordinate = 4
perpendicular distance from origin =
 \sqrt{4 {}^{2} + 3 { }^{2}  }
=
 \sqrt{16 + 9}  =  \sqrt{25 }  = 5
