Find the point on the y-axis whose from (3, 2) and (-1, 3) and (-1, 3/2) are in the ratio 2 : 1.

Point on Yaxis A(0, b) , C (-1, 3/2)

B (3, 2)

AB=under root (3-0) ^2+ (2-b) ^2

AC =under root (-1-0) ^2+ (3/2-b) ^2

AB /AC=2:1

AB^2/AC^2=4:1

3+ (2-b) ^2= 4 ((1+ (3/2-b) ^2)

by solving this we get b=13/4

So point on yaxis be (0, 13/4)
