let P(x, 0) is equidistant point from A(-3, 4) and B(1, -4)

PA=PB

squaring on both sides

PA^2=PB^2

[x-(-3) ]+(0-4) =(x-1) +[0-(-4) ]

x+3) +16=x^2-2x+1+16

x^2+6x+9+16=x^2-2x+1+16

6x+9=-2x+1

6x+2x=9-1

8x=8

x=8/8

x=1
